We restore and reproduce forgotten masterworks of graphic design on museum-grade paper — so they can live on your walls instead of in an archive.
The Story Behind the Print
Charles P. Strite’s U.S. Patent 1,394,450, granted October 18, 1921, describes an automatic bread toaster with a timed release mechanism. The invention addressed burned toast by combining electric heating elements with a controlled pop-up action.
Large front and plan views expose the heating chambers, rack, spring, and timing parts with clear early-twentieth-century drafting. This restored edition sets the crisp black patent sheet on cool aged paper and finishes it with the collection’s restrained black border.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. Designed for kitchens, breakfast rooms, cafes, and collections of everyday invention.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece—the print will always be richer.
About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with a 1.125 inch face, glazed in crystal-clear acrylic, and finished with a kraft paper dust cover and hanging wire. Your print is dry mounted so it stays perfectly flat for decades. Each framed piece arrives ready to hang.
The frame adds roughly 1.75 inches to each side of the print size you select. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.
