The Story Behind the Print

Tafel 78 from Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen der Natur (1904), titled Cubomedusae, Würfelquallen (box jellyfish).. The plate is printed in white line on a deep teal panel, with Haeckel's heading and the plate number above and the title below.

Box-shaped jellyfish hang in the panel, each trailing long, curling tentacles. A large central bell, seen from below, has broad, frilled arms sweeping out to each side. Smaller bells flank it at upper left and upper right, a small frilled figure sits at the top center, and two bells seen from below, each showing a four-armed pattern, anchor the bottom corners.

Printed on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper using fade-resistant giclée printing with archival inks, preserving the detail and character of the original for generations.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece — the print will always be richer.
