This archival astronomy print reproduces Étienne Léopold Trouvelot's celebrated chromolithograph of the total solar eclipse observed at Creston, Wyoming Territory, on July 29, 1878. First published in 1882 as part of The Trouvelot Astronomical Drawings, the plate pairs careful observation with unusually atmospheric color and detail.
The landscape composition brings a vivid scientific subject to a study, library, bedroom or collected gallery wall. Its warm ivory ground, artwork scale and balanced borders are coordinated across the Trouvelot series so multiple plates hang together seamlessly.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
