The Story Behind the Print
This 1881 botanical plate depicts Euthora cristata in the fine branching or frond detail of nineteenth-century marine illustration. The original printed species caption and plate number remain part of the composition.
The seaweed is centered on a softly brightened, warm paper ground. Its species is associated with the New England coast. Pair it with other plates in the series for a coordinated arrangement.
Printed to order on archival matte fine art paper. The artwork is available at 8 × 12 inches, either as Print Only or professionally framed in Satin Black, Slimwood Silver, or Slimwood Gold. Framed prints have no mat and arrive ready to hang.

About the Frame

Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
