The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Great White Heron print reproduces John James Audubon's illustration from Birds of America, plate 281, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries, and natural history collections.
A white heron holds a red fish crosswise in its long yellow bill. Fine plumes and angular greenish legs stand out against dark clouds, blue water, and a distant shoreline.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
