The Story Behind the Print
John Boyd Dunlop’s U.S. Patent 435,995, granted September 9, 1890, records John Boyd Dunlop’s resilient pneumatic wheel tire for cycles and the layered tube, cover, rim, and fastening system that supported it.
The monumental circular tire section and restrained annotations give the sheet the clarity of a scientific specimen. This restored edition preserves the original Patent Office arrangement in crisp black linework on cool, timeworn rag paper within the collection’s restrained black double rule.
Printed to order on 325gsm museum-grade archival matte paper with fade-resistant archival pigment inks. A natural piece for offices, libraries, workshops, and collections of invention and industrial design.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
