The Story Behind the Print

This 19th-century Naples (Napoli) map print shows the city around its Great Harbour, from Castello dell'Ovo and the Great Mole to the Botanical Garden and the hills behind.

Hill shading covers the slopes behind the city, with Castel Sant'Elmo on its height and the marshes of Le Paludi at right. A small engraved view of a castle by the water sits at lower left beside a note panel.

Archive Print Co. restores each map for clarity while preserving the aged cartographic character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
