The Story Behind the Print
This 19th-century New York City map print shows lower Manhattan's dense street plan narrowing to the island's tip, with the Hudson River, East River and New York Harbour lettered around it.
"New York" is lettered at upper left, and a key of public buildings runs across the top. Streets continue as a grid beyond the built-up area, a red line crosses the island, and two small vignettes of buildings sit at the lower corners.
Archive Print Co. restores each map for clarity while preserving the aged cartographic character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.
