The Story Behind the Print
Warm color and dark spots run from the head across the broad tail of this trout. The historical caption gives several names, including red throat and Rocky Mountain trout; its precise modern identity remains unresolved. This illustration appeared in a late-19th-century New York fisheries report.
Printed on a balanced landscape sheet in 8 × 6 or 12 × 9 inches. Choose Print Only or a ready-to-hang Slimwood Silver, Slimwood Gold, or Satin Black frame. Sizes describe the paper print; the outer frame adds to those dimensions.
Screen colors may vary slightly from the finished print.
About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
The selected size refers to the artwork itself. Framed orders are custom made and ship within 7 to 10 business days, free in the U.S. See our shipping and return policies for framed piece details.
