The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Vireo Solitarius print reproduces plate 28 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and botanical gallery walls.
Two birds perch among crossing cane stems and long, pointed leaves, their olive plumage, pale eye rings and finely lined wings set against open paper. The upper bird stretches along a stem while the lower bird leans forward beneath it. Original engraved lettering identifies the male and female and preserves the historical Solitary Flycatcher title and the cane caption.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
