The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Le Petit Caporal print reproduces plate 75 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and natural-history gallery walls.
An upright bird of prey perches on a broken trunk wrapped in a green vine. Its golden eye, spotted buff breast and yellow legs contrast with dark wings and a long barred tail, while delicate leaves and curling tendrils soften the textured wood beneath it.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
