The Story Behind the Print
This Downy Woodpecker bird print reproduces plate 112 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. Two birds appear among climbing vines and trumpet blossoms.
The upper woodpecker has a red crown patch, while the lower bird shows patterned black-and-white wings. Red-and-cream flowers and green leaves surround them; the original folio number, species title and botanical notation remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
