The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Snowy Owl print reproduces plate 121 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and natural-history gallery walls.
Two snowy owls perch among the limbs of a weathered tree against a dark, clouded sky. One sits upright above, its round yellow eyes turned to the side; the other leans forward below, showing finely barred wings and tail feathers. The engraved caption identifies a male and female, while the contrast between their pale plumage and the deep background gives the plate its dramatic character.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
