The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Great Crested Flycatcher print reproduces plate 129 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and natural-history gallery walls.
Two crested flycatchers fill the tall composition with contrasting poses. The upper bird spreads its wings and fans a warm brown tail, while the lower bird clings to a bare branch with its bill open. Yellow breasts, blue-gray throats and finely hatched feathers bring color and movement to the plate, accompanied by separate feather studies and the original engraved title.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
