The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Field Sparrow print reproduces plate 139 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and botanical gallery walls.
A single sparrow looks upward from a rocky water's edge beneath tall purple orchids and clusters of blue-black berries. Fine brown and gold feather lines, a pale breast and a raised tail stand against layered green and yellow foliage. Slender leaves carry the composition upward, while the original Field Sparrow caption, botanical names and engraved credits remain below.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
