The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Barn Swallow print reproduces plate 173 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, giving a familiar bird a striking natural-history presence on the wall.
Two swallows meet at a large nest: one lifts a long wing above the rim while the other rests low among the woven grasses. Deep blue heads, warm russet breasts and long tapered tails stand against the pale paper. The original plate number, species caption and engraving credits remain in the composition.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
