The Story Behind the Print
This vintage American Golden Crested Wren print reproduces plate 183 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, bringing two tiny crowned birds into a graceful botanical study.
One bird rests beside a spray of pale blossoms while the other hangs head-down near a tall reddish stem and broad green leaf. Their gold-and-black crowns punctuate the restrained olive and silver palette; the original plate number, historical caption and engraving credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
