The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Snow Bunting print reproduces plate 189 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, showing three birds against a muted rocky landscape.
One bunting crosses the gray sky with its black-and-white wings spread wide. A second stands on a mossy rise above a third bird nestled near the ground, with water and distant hills behind them. The original plate number, bird name, scientific caption, age labels and engraving credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
