The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Yellow-bellied Woodpecker print reproduces plate 190 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, showing two birds among fruiting branches.
An upright bird with a crimson crown grips the central branch while a second hangs below, its red throat and patterned wing spread beside clusters of dark berries and green leaves. The original plate number, species and botanical captions, male and female labels, and engraving credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
