The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Labrador Falcon print reproduces plate 196 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. Two powerful falcons occupy diagonal branches, their dark plumage and pale talons set against the open paper.
The upper bird folds its wings and looks downward. Below it, a streak-breasted bird raises its head with an open beak and spreads its wings and tail. The original No 40, PLATE CXCVI, Labrador Falcon and FALCO LABRADORA captions, figure labels, and Audubon/Havell credits remain visible, along with the warm historic paper and faint folio seam.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
