The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Hyperborean Phalarope print reproduces plate 215 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, prepared as historical wall art for a study, library or natural-history gallery wall.
Three phalaropes animate a low blue-gray waterline: one spreads its dark patterned wings in flight, one bends to forage among green aquatic plants, and a third rests on the water. Rust-colored necks, fine feather markings and the engraved 'Hyperborean phalarope' caption distinguish this plate. The original plate number, figure labels and engraved credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
