The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Kittiwake Gull print reproduces plate 224 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and coastal gallery walls.
Two gulls face opposite directions on a rocky ledge beneath a softly painted blue sky. One has a dark bill and a gray marking behind the head; the other has a yellow bill, while overlapping blue-gray wings and pale underparts connect the pair across the landscape.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
