The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Kildeer Plover print reproduces plate 225 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, prepared as historical wall art for a study, library or natural-history gallery wall.
One plover flies toward another standing on a rocky shore. The flying bird spreads boldly patterned black-and-white wings and a pinkish tail, while the standing bird shows a reddish eye ring, dark neck bands, slender legs and a long pointed tail. Shore grass, the engraved 'Kildeer Plover' caption, plate number and original credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
