The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Scaup Duck print reproduces plate 229 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and natural-history gallery walls.
Two ducks rest together against broad brown ground with pale green reeds rising behind them. The dark-headed bird on the left has a delicately patterned black-and-white back and pale blue bill; its warm brown companion rests beside it. The original specimen number, plate marking, title and engraved credits remain part of the print.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
