The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Sora, or Rail print reproduces plate 233 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, prepared as historical wall art for a study, library or natural-history gallery wall.
Three rails move through a stand of tall reeds: one walks left across the foreground, one lifts an open bill toward a small insect on an arching leaf, and one feeds with its head lowered. Brown patterned wings, red eyes, green legs, a dark fallen log and broad leaves fill the lower scene. The original plate number, caption and engraved credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
