The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Horned Grebe print reproduces plate 259 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and natural-history gallery walls.
Two grebes rest among pale marsh reeds: one rises upright with a russet neck, dark crest and golden ear tufts, while the second sits low in black-and-white plumage. Finely rendered feathers, silvery lobed feet, muted water and the green rock shelf give the broad horizontal composition vivid ornithological character.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
