The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Richardson's Jager print reproduces plate 272 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, prepared as historical wall art for a study, library or natural-history gallery wall.
Two jagers stand on a coastal rise: a pale-necked bird in the foreground and a dark, finely patterned bird perched on a rock, with a muted sea and distant hills behind them. The original No. 55, Plate CCLXXII, Richardson's Jager caption, Latin name, life-stage note and engraved credits remain with the artwork.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
