The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Willet print reproduces plate 274 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, coastal interiors and natural-history gallery walls.
Three shorebirds fill a rocky, grass-lined setting in this wide composition. One bends forward with its bill open, another stands upright in patterned plumage, and a third spreads striking black-and-white wings behind them. Slender blue-gray bills and legs contrast with the muted greens and browns of the habitat, while the engraved Semipalmated Snipe or Willet title preserves the identity of the historical plate.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
