The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Purple Gallinule print reproduces plate 305 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and waterside gallery walls.
A purple-blue gallinule steps across an ocher marsh bank on remarkably long yellow toes. Green wing feathers and a red-and-yellow bill bring bright contrasts to the scene, while reeds, pale clouds and a distant tree-lined shore stretch across the water behind it.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
