The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Tell-tale Godwit, or Snipe print reproduces plate 308 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, prepared as historical wall art for a study, library or natural-history gallery wall.
Two long-legged shorebirds stand at a muddy wetland edge. The bird at left lifts one pale patterned wing and bends its head toward its shoulder; the bird at right lowers its long bill to a small pool. Dark feathering, yellow legs, marsh grasses, distant trees and farm buildings fill the scene. The original No. 62, Plate CCCVIII, Tell-tale Godwit or Snipe caption, Latin name and engraving credits remain on the sheet.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
