The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Lesser Tern print reproduces plate 319 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and natural-history gallery walls.
Two terns fly through a broad field of gray clouds. The upper bird has mottled brown-and-cream plumage and long pointed wings; below it, a pale bird with a black cap and yellow bill sweeps across the darker sky. The original specimen number, plate marking, title and engraved credits remain part of the composition.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
