The Story Behind the Print
This Least Stormy-Petrel bird print reproduces plate 340 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. Two dark seabirds skim and turn above a wind-ruffled sea.
The upper bird stretches its long wings across a pale sky while its companion dips toward the water below. Fine feather engraving, blue-gray waves and floating seaweed give the scene a sense of motion. The original No. 68, Plate CCCXL, Least Stormy-Petrel title, historical Latin name, male and female labels and engraved credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
