The Story Behind the Print
This Great Cinereous Owl bird print reproduces plate 351 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. A single large owl turns its round face toward the viewer from a weathered branch.
Yellow eyes stand out within concentric rings of pale and dark feathers. Fine markings run across the broad wings and long tail, while soft blue sky and layered clouds sit behind the bird. The original No. 71, Plate CCCLI, Great Cinereous Owl title, historical Latin name and engraved credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
