The Story Behind the Print
This Audubon bird print reproduces plate 353 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. The historical plate names three birds: Chesnut-backed Titmouse, Black-capt Titmouse, and Chesnut-crowned Titmouse.
Six small birds gather around a long, pendant nest among leafy branches. Warm chestnut backs, black-and-white heads and delicate blue-gray feather details distinguish the figures. The original No. 71, Plate CCCLIII, three engraved captions and printer's credits remain visible.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
