The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Lapland Long-spur print reproduces plate 365 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and nature-inspired gallery walls.
Three longspurs gather on a rocky bank beside blue-green water. The raised bird has a bold black-and-white head, yellow bill and rust-edged wing feathers, while one companion leans forward and another stands at the left. Their patterned plumage, long toes and contrasting poses anchor a broad landscape of grasses, wooded shores and pale distant mountains. Original specimen numbers and engraved species lettering retain the character of this detailed natural-history composition.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
