The Story Behind the Print
This vintage American Water Ouzel print reproduces plate 370 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and natural-history gallery walls.
Two brown-headed, slate-gray birds stand on pale rocks above a stream pouring between boulders. One lifts its bill while the other leans forward with its tail raised. Fine scalloped feather lines contrast with the broad stone shapes, pale blue-white water and softly colored hills behind them. The original title and engraved credits remain below the scene.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
