The Story Behind the Print
This Audubon bird print reproduces plate 373 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America. The original engraving titles the two subjects Evening Grosbeak and Spotted Grosbeak.
Four birds occupy the spare branching composition: a yellow-and-black figure above, a chestnut-and-black bird near the center, and two more below. A small butterfly rests between them. The folio number, plate number, original titles, historical taxonomic labels, and engraved credits remain part of the artwork.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
