The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Audubon bird print reproduces plate 388 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and natural-history gallery walls.
Four birds occupy a tall arrangement of bare branches, accompanied by a separate head study. A red-and-white shoulder patch, yellow breast and orange throat brighten the finely engraved blue-black and brown plumage. The varied poses and slender branches draw the eye through the composition, with the original captions naming Nuttall's Starling, Yellow-headed Troopial and Bullock's Oriole retained below.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
