The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Burgomaster Gull print reproduces plate 396 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for coastal homes, studies and natural-history gallery walls.
Two gulls occupy a rocky shore against a muted blue-gray background. The pale adult in the foreground contrasts with the brown-patterned young bird resting behind it, with fine feather lines and webbed feet carrying the detail. The engraved caption identifies an adult male and a young bird in its first autumn, preserving the plate's historical Burgomaster Gull title.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
