The Story Behind the Print
This vintage California Partridge print reproduces plate 413 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and natural-history gallery walls.
Two crested birds occupy a sloping rocky foreground above a winding river and layered pale hills. The upright male displays a blue-gray breast and boldly scalloped belly in cream, yellow and russet, while the female lowers her head toward the ground. Fine feather lines and low green brush balance their contrasting poses, with the original Californian Partridge caption and engraved credits retained below.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
