The Story Behind the Print
This vintage Brown Creeper and Californian Nuthatch print reproduces plate 415 from John James Audubon's nineteenth-century Birds of America, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries and woodland gallery walls.
Four birds gather around a weathered, lichen-covered tree: two brown creepers and two blue-gray nuthatches. The flying creeper spreads its finely barred wings at the lower left, while its companion clings upright to the trunk. One nuthatch points upward and the other hangs headfirst, their cool blue plumage contrasting with the muted green bark. Original species captions and engraved credits complete this detailed woodland composition.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
