The Story Behind the Print
This Audubon bird print reproduces Townsend's Sandpiper, plate 428 from John James Audubon's Birds of America. Two birds sweep over a quiet band of water, one pale and one dark, with their wings spread across the vertical composition.
Fine feather patterning, greenish legs and sharply outlined eyes give each bird its distinct character. The plate's folio number, engraved plate mark, title and printer credits remain visible around the artwork.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
