The Story Behind the Print
This 1881 botanical plate depicts Ptilota plumosa var. serrata in the fine branching or frond detail of nineteenth-century marine illustration. The original printed species caption and plate number remain part of the composition.
The seaweed is centered on a softly brightened, warm paper ground. Its Atlantic botanical character suits a collected coastal gallery wall. Pair it with other plates in the series for a coordinated arrangement.
Printed to order on archival matte fine art paper. The artwork is available at 8 × 12 inches, either as Print Only or professionally framed in Satin Black, Slimwood Silver, or Slimwood Gold. Framed prints have no mat and arrive ready to hang.

Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
