The Story Behind the Print
This vintage print reproduces John James Audubon's Purple Heron illustration from Birds of America, plate 256, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries, and natural history collections.
A white heron faces a darker bird with a russet neck and long blue legs. Broad leaves, shallow water, and marsh grasses surround the pair, creating a vivid contrast of plumage and wetland color.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
