The Story Behind the Print
This archival print reproduces a 1820 whaling plate from William Scoresby's An Account of the Arctic Regions. Its original illustration, labels and historical paper character are preserved.
The plate shows an Arctic shore, stranded ship and people working among ice and whaling equipment. Historic line work and original captions give the composition its nineteenth-century character.
Printed to order with archival inks on heavyweight 325gsm museum-grade matte paper. Choose an unframed print or a ready-to-hang finish in Slimwood Silver, Slimwood Gold or Satin Black.
Screen settings can affect printed colors. Fine historic lettering is best appreciated close up.
