The Story Behind the Print
This vintage marine-life print features Soft-shell clam from Plate 21 of George W. Tryon's American Marine Conchology, published in 1873.
Two large shell views showcase closely spaced growth lines and softly shaded curves. Small anatomical details between them add precision to the otherwise spacious arrangement.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
