The Story Behind the Print
This vintage marine-life print features Nucula tenuis from Plate 38 of George W. Tryon's American Marine Conchology, published in 1873.
A large blue-black elongated shell crowns rows of smaller valves. Olive-green, gold, and brown specimens below create a varied sequence of smooth curves and fine growth lines.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.
Colors may vary slightly between screens and the finished piece; the print will always be richer in person.
About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
