The Story Behind the Print
This vintage print reproduces John James Audubon's White-legged Oyster-catcher illustration from Birds of America, Plate 427. A nineteenth-century ornithological study, the hand-colored engraving depicts the bird in characteristic pose and plumage, restored for natural history collections and scholarly displays.
Two dark shorebirds occupy a low ledge scattered with shells and small marine details. Long red bills, bright eyes, and pink legs contrast with the dense, finely patterned plumage.
Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame
Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
