Reading a Town in Lines and Washes: Sellersville in 1891
Sellersville Pennsylvania 1891 Map Print
Noble, Church, Green, Walnut, and Branch streets are lettered in black on cream paper. Ridge Avenue runs through the composition. The North Branch of Perkiomen Creek traces its course across the sheet.
St. Michael's Church receives its place. A cemetery is marked. The N. P. R. R. Co. station appears, along with a brick yard, a tannery, and a creamery. Lot owners are noted throughout.
The color palette is restrained and elegant: a faded sage wash on warm cream paper. A sub plan provides additional detail. The title block bears simply: Borough of Sellersville.
