The Story Behind the Print

This vintage Baltimore Oriole print reproduces John James Audubon's illustration from Birds of America, plate 12, restored as historical wall art for studies, libraries, and natural history collections.

Orange, yellow, and black orioles surround a hanging woven nest among broad leaves and intricate passion flowers. The nest's loose fibers and the birds' varied poses make this a particularly lively botanical composition.

Archive Print Co. restores each illustration for clarity while preserving the character of the original. Each reproduction is printed as a giclée art print on heavyweight 325gsm archival matte paper with archival inks.

About the Frame

Framed pieces are built to order in solid wood with clear acrylic glazing, dry-mounted artwork, a kraft paper dust cover, and hanging wire. Each piece arrives ready to hang. No mat. Satin Black has a 7/8-inch face and adds 1.25 inches to the total width and height. Slimwood Silver and Slimwood Gold have a 1 1/8-inch face and add 1.75 inches to the total width and height.
